Changing the Desktop Icon Size in Windows Vista

By default, the icons on the desktop are quite large. To change the size of the icons;
Right click on the Desktop
Select View
Set it to Classic Icons

You can also hold down the Control key while the desktop is displayed. Use the wheel mouse to make the icons larger or smaller, this gives more control

Maureen the same thing happened to me! But then I realized that you actually have to press the scroll button and then scroll up and down; it's not enough to just roll up and down - you have to have it clicked down (all this while holding CTRL)
